Targeted Lung Health Check Programme renamed the NHS Lung Cancer Screening Programme

From 1 February 2025, the NHS Targeted Lung Health Check (TLHC) Programme will be known as the NHS Lung Cancer Screening Programme.
Charlotte Smith is a project manager in the national Targeted Lung Health Checks (TLHC) team at NHS England. She leads on the team’s communication and engagement work and supports cancer alliances in the local delivery of the programme. She has worked for NHS England since January 2022, previously supporting the London region in setting up its Integrated Care Systems. She has worked for the TLHC programme since November 2022.
From 1 February 2025, the NHS Targeted Lung Health Check (TLHC) Programme will be known as the NHS Lung Cancer Screening Programme.
More than 5,000 lung cancers have been detected since the launch of the Targeted Lung Health Check programme, which will become a national lung cancer screening programme.
The UK National Screening Committee (UK NSC) advises ministers and the NHS in the 4 UK countries about all aspects of population screening and supports implementation of
screening programmes.
