The UK National Screening Committee (UK NSC) formally accepted the 4 chief medical officers’ (CMOs’) recommendations for the committee’s expanded remit at its June 2022 meeting.
The committee also approved a suite of supporting publications that describe the UK NSC plans, processes and principles for implementing those recommendations.
A new document collection on GOV.UK, UK NSC processes and principles, includes these publications and others that underpin the committee’s work.
The collection includes the CMOs’ recommendations, the updated UK NSC evidence review process, how to submit proposals to the committee under the annual call and the following publications that describe how the committee plans to implement the CMO recommendations for its expanded remit:
- UK NSC research and methodology group
- UK NSC stakeholder engagement
- UK NSC disease, clinical effectiveness and cost effectiveness modelling
- UK NSC approach to horizon scanning
We will keep you updated as we add to this collection over the coming months.
