My name is Bob Steele and I’m chair of the UK National Screening Committee. I’m really delighted to announce a brand-new website and blog for the committee which has been designed for all our users from across the UK and reflects both the independence and broad range of work of the committee.
It’s the result of 3 years of hard effort and is based on a huge amount of user research, but can I stress that this is just the beginning and we will continue to make it better based on your feedback and ideas. Straight away, you’ll find it much easier to find information about the conditions you’re interested in and to respond to our consultations. You’ll even be able to subscribe to automatic email updates to find out about new reviews and consultations.
We hope very much that the website is a major step towards increased transparency around the work of the UK National Screening Committee and towards improving how we engage with our stakeholders and members of the public. Our aim is for it to act as a focal point and platform for new ways of communicating with you and explaining the work of the committee.
I have now been Chair of UK National Screening Committee for 4 years, and I have seen the committee expand and develop in a very positive way. However, we have recognised for some time that our outreach could be improved, and we are excited about the potential of our new website.
However, we can’t progress further without your input, so please do provide us with feedback on the website, and you can do this via the website itself.
